Ahmed Hamza: Head Pro at Piedmont Driving Club

Ahmed was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt. Few people know that Ahmed is actually an accountant, having earned his accounting degree from the University of Alexandria and is a Sun Microsystems Certified Programmer.

Ahmed started playing squash in high school and fell in love with the sport. He has been playing for 25 years and teaching for over 15 years. He loves to work with all levels, from complete beginners to assisting pros reach the next level.

He is certified as a Head Squash Professional Level 3 Coach in the US – the highest coaching level. Only 30 pros in the country are certified at that level. Ahmed is also a former top 8 in Egypt, top 100 in the world, and #1 in the US 6.0 skill level – the highest singles level. He is the current US National Champion for over 35.

Formerly with The Field Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, Ahmed moved to PDC in 2011. When he started at PDC there were less than five juniors playing squash; now there are over 100. He started the first junior sanctioned tournament in the south and first ever at PDC and is now running three junior tournaments at PDC. Another arrow in Ahmed’s quiver is the PDC Cup, which is the biggest Pro Doubles event in the country. Ahmed is an asset not only to PDC, but to all of squash in Atlanta.
