Sawyer Duncan and John Woodhams Win U.S. Squash National Championship

Atlanta’s Sawyer Duncan and John Woodhams recently won the Men’s A Doubles draw of the 2024 U.S. Squash Doubles National Championship hosted by The Cynwyd Club in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Representing SESRA and the Piedmont Driving Club against players from all over North America, Duncan and Woodhams were the top seeds and only dropped one game en route to the title at the Germantown Cricket Club.

With the title, the Atlanta team joins fellow current and former SESRA members Ahmed Hamza, Eben Hardie III, Michael Gough, Tom Rumpler, Diniar Alikhan, Richard Millman, Bill Villari, Mark Heather and Michelle and Lana Quibell and others as U.S. Squash national champions. Sawyer Duncan is currently ranked #98 on the SDA Pro Tour and John Woodhams has been ranked in the top 45 in the world in prior seasons.

Congratulations also belong to SESRA’s Erik Granade from the Piedmont Driving Club and Atlanta Community Squash, who was a finalist in the Men’s 60+ Doubles championship with his partner Rob Hill from Denver, CO. Erik and Rob won two rounds before falling in a tight three-game match to Dominic Hughes and Bart Sambrook.

With the largest number of teams in the event history, it was fantastic to see the continued growth of Doubles Squash. An event like this doesn’t take place without the support of the generous sponsors; The Pierce Family, Cozen O’Connor, Czar League, The Flynn Company, Harrow, Palladian Realty Capital, PSRA, SDA Pro Tour, Shane Coleman, Arrangio and George LLP and Scream Media.
